I wanted to share some of my can’t live without items. Do you know how I know I can’t live without them? Because I just happened to leave them ALL in Italy. If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@mirallegro) you would have felt my pain. All my ride or die products left in a cozy little bathroom somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea.
The thing is I’m all about keeping my make-up low-key. I like that natural glow look. You know the one – made up of organic primers, toners, serums, gels, toners, balms andddd thennn a thin coat of tinted moisturizer and a flick of mascara. SO whilst most people thought I couldn’t care less if I’ve left my makeup bag overseas, to me it’s not just make up. It’s Skin Care. It’s Self Care. It is Mind Care.
Find my essentials below!
Let’s start in the AM pre/post shower because who doesn’t love the idea of waking up & cleansing in Cowshed lotions? Especially when they’re infused with jasmine, chamomile and sandalwood oils? Helllllo. Do you ever read them blogs about what successful people do when they wake up? Don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure the first product that those boss women will put on their bodies will be Cowshed. Wake me up and smoother me in success the bottle should read.
It’s no secret that one of my favorite brands is Origins – there ethics and products make my heart happy. This one is pretty much your tired eye saver. Your weapon against those dark circles. Your anti aging bestie. I swear by this in the morning. If you’re like me and wake up with serious puffiness then apply a little dab ** wait 5 minutes ** and tada EYE’S I SEE YOU.
This is tinted. Anything that’s moisturizing & tinted is a total win. I also just love multi-tasker – did I mention it’s got coffee beans and Panax Ginseng in? That is right: moisture’s, tints AND is energizing. Also I’m a huge fan of sunscreen too (I pretty much listen to Baz Luhrmann on repeat nowadays), and this cream has SPF 40, HIGHYA harmful UV rays.
I’ve always suffered from sensitive eyes. Therefore organic eye care is a must. If I’m putting something near my eye there’s some time of relief knowing it’s natural. One time I used my friends Mac eyeliner (the days of being young and carefree) and I swear to god that people thought I was having a melt down on a night out because my eyes swelled up so much. What works for me is a smooth long lasting Mascara that defines each lash. If that’s you – then you need this mascara.
And to take it all off? Avène’s soothing and sensitive cleanser and lotion. I was sent this to try & it’s everything I was looking for. Wanting to soothe dryness, diminish pigmentation and reduce redness? Then these are your babies! Plus there’s no nasties in them, so it rests my mind knowing my skin is breathing whilst I sleep – just a few gentle wipes to remove any dirt/makeup and a little Neals Balm (below) and I’m good to go.
Basically Neal’s Yard is the Mother Teresa of organic brands. If you don’t have a Neal’s Yard product in your wash bag, then pick this one. YOU WILL LOVE IT! It seriously supports everything. You can use it as a cleanser, facemask, lip balm, nail balm or the best moisturizing face boost. Let’s just talk about the ingredients too – Rosehip Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil & Beeswax, Borage & Hemp Seed Oils, Geranium & Rosemary Essentials Oils, Frankincense & Patchouli Essentials Oils and Palmarosa Oil. Disclaimer – I’ve only just read what all of these are beneficial for BUT despite not knowing my skin and my gut approved immediately. Don’t forget your gut guys..
You’ve probably noticed a running theme with the products. They’re organic. Since turning Vegan I really started researching products. Including makeup. No nasty toxins on my face, thanks. If you’re thinking of making the switch or have any skin concerns but have no idea where to start – my beauty matches – have made it super easy and efficient for you with personalised impartial beauty recommendations to find the most suitable matches for YOU.
Take the quiz! Let me know your top three?! Are they similar products to what you’re already using or are they completely different? It’s fun, right? I was surprised at how many matches I already had – so thanks for clearing my top 6 up MBM.
Anyway I’m off to soak in my tub with a kilo of sea salt in *pretends I’m back in Mediterranean*
Happy Sunday x
